Paper Topics Flannry OConnor - Mother of the New Americanism

Paper Topics Flannry O'Connor - Mother of the New AmericanismFlannery O'Connor has been called one of the most controversial and misunderstood writers in the United States. This was due to her writing, which is reminiscent of the writing style of John Steinbeck. Most people are not sure what exactly Flannery O'Connor is writing about or commenting on. Some people, including writers, see her as a leftist, while others consider her to be a 'hard' rightist. It would be safe to say that the current consensus on Flannery O'Connor is not as it should be. Although some would rather not accept her opinions on their way of life, others appreciate her themes. Flannery O'Connor is, after all, known as a great pessimist. But is it true that Flannery O'Connor is the mother of the New Americanism, and perhaps even the author of it? That she is a postmodernist, and she often satirizes and makes fun of the present day? The whole subject of Flannery O'Connor depends on what someone considers to be an A merican. Is Flannery O'Connor a New Yorker or a Californian? What is it about Flannery O'Connor's writing that is so intriguing to Americans? Or to anyone for that matter?Flannery O'Connor is considered to be a 'hard' right-wing author. It would be surprising to find many hard right-wing authors today. They were relatively rare years ago and even more rare today. More Americans today are unsure of what the term 'hard' means, so their views may vary.Flannery O'Connor is often criticized for not being politically correct, and by virtue of this reputation she is viewed as being a right-winger. However, many contemporary Americans disagree with that notion. Americans across the board, including politicians, disagree with that notion. This is probably the reason why some American conservatives feel that Flannery O'Connor is not far to the left. If she is considered to be an 'old-fashioned' writer, and is 'pessimistic' regarding our political climate, then many of her criticisms may be vali d. She might be correct that our society is overly partisan and needs to change. She might be right that we are too deeply divided by race, culture, religion, etc.As far as Paper Topics Flannry O'Connor is concerned, one could say that she is the mother of the New Americanism. It is doubtful whether she actually came up with the phrase herself, but she did have a hand in its development. This is especially true in its use of the word 'postmodernism.'
